The History of the Learning Hub
We needed an adaptable, inclusive, community environment welcoming and nurturing to facilitate interactive learning and development. To accommodate, The Learning Hub is situated in Central Manchester to reflect the active lifestyle of our supported people. Our hub is designed to enhance performance and encourage holistic learning, socialising and creativity.
It is paramount that we have unwavering commitment, throughout the year we have delivered educational sessions to help improve cognition, self-awareness and independence. The learners are resoundingly positive about the difference that the hub makes to their lives which is reflected in their excellent attendance and work. Learners have been able to flourish and express themselves throughout Core learning, Social stories, Music therapy session and Creative Art Therapy.
At The Learning Hub we build truly personalised learning through our deep understanding of all our supported person’s abilities and interests. This allows us to develop individual curriculums which ensure that our learners embark on an on-going journey of development and discovery.
At the heart of the Learning Hub ethos is the desire to improve outcomes for all our supported people, for some this is working towards improved Literacy and Numeracy, and where possible gaining Nationally recognised qualifications, for others this involves building confidence in learning and undertaking new life skills. The Learning is currently registered with ASDAN and our Supported People regularly participate in ASDAN challenges, gathering evidence from their daily activities to help them complete the various units. We are also currently working with AQA to become a registered centre, which will allow our users to gain certification in a vast multitude of academic and life skills courses.
